Hi, Edith

Privacy Policy

Effective September 28, 2026

Hi, Edith (“Edith,” “we,” “us”) is an AI chief of staff for shipping software. This policy explains what we collect when you use hiedith.com, the Edith desktop app and the Edith MCP connector (together, the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Account information. Your name, email address and password (stored as a one-way hash). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from that provider.
  • Content you create. Projects, tickets, comments, calendar blocks, chat messages with Edith, voice transcripts, agent job instructions and their output.
  • Connected services. When you connect GitHub, Vercel, Linear, Jira, Neon or another integration, we store the access token or API key you grant us and the data we fetch from that service on your behalf (for example repositories, issues, deployments and environment variables).
  • Code. When you link a repository, we may index its contents so Edith can answer questions about your code and run coding agents against it.
  • Voice. When you talk to Edith, your audio is streamed to our speech providers for transcription and speech synthesis in real time. We don’t store raw audio recordings; transcripts may be saved as part of your chat history.
  • Technical data. IP address and browser user agent, recorded with your sign-in session for security.

How we use it

  • To provide, operate and secure the Service.
  • To take actions you ask for in connected services — creating tickets, running agents, pushing code, triggering deployments and similar.
  • To send transactional email, such as project invitations and job notifications.
  • To debug problems and improve the Service.

We don’t sell your personal information, we don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t use your content to train AI models.

Google user data

If you sign in with Google, we request only your basic profile (name, email address and profile picture) and use it solely to create and authenticate your account. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed for them to do so:

  • Hosting and infrastructure: Vercel (application hosting) and Neon (database).
  • AI and speech: OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek and ElevenLabs, to generate responses, run coding agents, transcribe your voice and speak replies. The content of your request is sent to the provider handling it.
  • Email: Resend, to deliver transactional email.
  • Sign-in: Google and Apple, if you choose to sign in with them.
  • Integrations you connect: data you direct Edith to send to GitHub, Vercel, Linear, Jira, Neon or other services goes to those services under their own privacy policies.
  • Your teammates: content in a shared project is visible to that project’s members.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or the public.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. Your theme preference is stored in your browser. We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can disconnect an integration at any time, which deletes its stored token. To delete your account and associated data, email hello@hiedith.com and we’ll do so within 30 days, except where we must keep something to comply with the law.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest by our database provider. Access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict how we process it. To make a request, email hello@hiedith.com. We’ll respond within 30 days.

Children

The Service isn’t directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

International transfers

We and our providers process data in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than where you live.

Changes

We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. The effective date above shows when it was last revised.
