Terms of Service
Effective September 28, 2026
These terms govern your use of hiedith.com, the Edith desktop app and the Edith MCP connector (together, the “Service”), provided by Hi, Edith (“Edith,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Your account
You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Service. Keep your credentials secure — you’re responsible for activity under your account. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it to these terms.
Your content
You own the content you bring to the Service, including projects, tickets, messages, voice input and code. You grant us a limited license to host, process and transmit it only as needed to provide the Service to you and the people you share it with.
Connected services and agents
When you connect a third-party service (such as GitHub, Vercel, Linear, Jira or Neon) you authorize Edith to access it and act on your behalf within the permissions you grant — for example creating tickets, running coding agents, pushing code, changing environment variables or triggering deployments.
AI-generated output and agent actions can be wrong, incomplete or destructive. You’re responsible for reviewing what Edith proposes and does, and for maintaining backups of anything important. Your use of third-party services remains subject to their terms, and any usage charges from API keys you provide are billed to you by those providers.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law, or infringe or misappropriate anyone else’s rights.
- Use the Service to build or run malware, spam, or attacks against any system.
- Probe, disrupt or overload the Service, or access it by means other than the interfaces we provide.
- Access another user’s account or data without their permission.
- Resell the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
Our Service
The Service is under active development. We may add, change or remove features at any time, and we don’t guarantee it will be available without interruption. The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid plans, we’ll tell you in advance, and you won’t be charged without agreeing to pay.
Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if continuing to provide the Service would create legal or security risk. The sections on your content, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnity survive termination.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON’T WARRANT THAT AI OUTPUT OR AGENT ACTIONS WILL BE ACCURATE OR ERROR-FREE.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EDITH WON’T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR US$100.
Indemnity
You’ll defend and indemnify Edith against claims arising from your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
